During our visit to Bainbridge Island, near Seattle we met Brandon, a remarkable 31 year old young man who shared with us his incredible story. He fought to gain custody of his three young daughters, Aaliyah, Mariah, and Hayley after breaking up with their mother who had become a drug addict and alcoholic. He had not had the financial resources to employ a lawyer but nonetheless it had cost him over $25 000 over three years to gain custody.
We had travelled on a ferry for one and a half hours to reach the Island and were dismayed to find on our arrival that there were no available taxis. We had planned to stay only for the day and then take the ferry back to Seattle that evening. Brandon then appeared driving his cab to collect his pre-booked passengers. He explained that as he had arrived early he would have time to take us into the town and drop us off at a coffee shop while he collected and delivered his other passengers. He then returned to fetch us and agreed to spend the day giving us a guided tour of the Island. During that time we got to know him well he sensed that we were approachable. His courage, commitment and determination had enabled him to achieve his goal and his three young daughters were delighted to know that they would be living with their father and his new wife-to-be, Jenny, a schoolteacher who was highly spiritually aware. Brandon and Jenny had nearly completed renovating their future family home and intended to set up an eco-friendly business focusing on pure water and self-sufficiency.
The pictures of the Black Bears’ above and to the left are of ones we saw in their natural environments on Vancouver Island and we took the pictures from a small boat near Tofino. The beauty of that natural environment epitomises Brandon’s dreams of helping to improve and maintain the natural beauty of this planet.
Brandon asked many questions about “Journey of a Shaman” and the messages that pertained to him. The three year battle he had fought to gain custody of his daughters had left him emotionally and spiritually exhausted and we were able to facilitate the lifting of the negativity he experienced. He expressed his delight at the extent to which he felt lighter and re-energised.
After a long day he took us to the ferry terminal and we felt inspired by him and his story.
